"A Heart Afire" by Patricia Meisol — Book Launch Support

Multimedia promotion, event branding, and creative support for a powerful literary debut
To support the release of A Heart Afire, journalist and author Patricia Meisol’s compelling biography of the pioneering children’s heart doctor Helen Taussig, I led creative efforts to build a cohesive, elegant, and heartfelt launch campaign. From the first promo video to the design of event materials, my goal was to amplify the spirit of the book through visual storytelling—online, in print, and in person.

Official Book Promo Video
Filmed and edited by me, this 1-minute video was designed for Patricia’s website, YouTube, and social media channels. The trailer aimed to build anticipation for the book launch and introduce her voice and story to new audiences.
Delivered in multiple social-media-friendly formats for easy sharing across platforms.
Portrait Photography
I directed and photographed a series of portraits of Patricia with her book to be used across media and promotion.

Event Photography & Speech Video
I photographed the book launch event and filmed Patricia’s speech, later editing the footage into a clean, shareable video for post-event outreach.
Event Materials & Print Design
For the in-person book launch event, I created a suite of collateral to enhance the atmosphere and guest experience:
• Custom-designed bookmarks for attendees
• Large-format quote graphics pulled from the book, displayed around the venue
• Visual consistency through typography, palette, and tone
This project brought together the full scope of my creative direction skills—from video production and photography to print design and event branding. It was a joy to help bring Patricia’s work into the world with care and visual clarity.
